The Comedy Bar Re-Opens Dubuque Venue For First Time Since Pandemic

The Comedy Bar, Dubuque’s only stand up comedy club, will finally re-open its doors after the pandemic shuttered their Dubuque, Iowa venue in March of 2020. The Comedy Bar originally opened its doors in November of 2019 with great support from the community, but that momentum was stopped abruptly when the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to close their doors after only five short months in operation. Beginning October 1st, they will be hosting national headliners every weekend including names like Al Jackson (Comedy Central), Brooks Wheelan (SNL) and Sean Patton (TruTV) to name a few.

“We are so happy to be back!” says co-owner, Sahar Chavoshi “Looking back now, we never thought we’d be closed for 18 months, but we are so grateful to be able to be open again and thankful for the support of the Dubuque community in welcoming us back. I’m especially excited for the fall lineup of comedians and can’t wait to laugh together again.”

The Comedy Bar celebrated ten years of laughs on August 11th of this year at their flagship location. Having started in Chicago, the venue now has multiple locations across the U.S. with more locations in the works. In Dubuque, guests will be able to enjoy stand up comedy shows every Thursday through Saturday with everything from open mic nights to national headliner showcases on the weekends. The Comedy Bar will only be serving drinks for their opening weekend, but have officially joined forced with their neighbors at Gino’s East. They anticipate serving pizza and other menu items within the first 1-2 months of opening.

Can’t make it for the grand opening on October 1st? Don’t worry! The Comedy Bar has a superstar line up of their favorite headliners through the remainder of 2021. Tickets are $18 for General Admission and $25 for VIP seating and can be purchased at www.comedybar.com. More information about upcoming headliners can be found below:
