Larry Steffen, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Eagle Point Solar (Dubuque, Iowa) has been elected President of the Board of the Iowa Solar Energy Trade Association (ISETA). Steffen will lead the non-profit organization’s strategic direction during his two-year appointment. Steffen succeeds the appointment of previous ISETA President, Lewis Butler from GRNE Solar.

“As ISETA continues to grow and evolve throughout Iowa, it is our mission to build, nurture and bridge relationships between Iowa solar companies, the public and state government. Larry has an extensive background in the solar industry as co-owner of Eagle Point Solar and is in tune with solar industry trends, utility energy policies, state-level advocacy efforts and consumer and business energy transition hurdles within the renewable energy industry. We welcome his leadership and learning from his bi-partisan perspective to continue to build and strengthen the solar industry throughout Iowa,” stated Genie Maybanks, ISETA Executive Director.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to help lead ISETA and work with an exceptional Board of Directors who represent the best-of-the-best in the solar industry throughout our state. ISETA has a solid foundation and I am eager to help grow solar education and adoption by strengthening homeowner and business relationships throughout our cities and rural areas, statewide. Statewide and grassroots advocacy and education success stems far beyond ISETA in partnership with solar champions at the local level working and volunteering in county energy districts, city and state sustainable and renewable energy programs, Chamber of Commerce and utility leaders along with their memberships, lobbying groups and more. Harnessing the power of the sun and achieving a diverse renewable, sustainable and clean energy landscape in Iowa requires taking the necessary steps to educate Iowans on the financial and environmental benefits of solar. I look forward to helping lead these efforts with ISETA in Iowa’s growing solar industry and working in conjunction with our partners to continue to move solar forward,” stated Larry Steffen, ISETA President.
