New enhancements for attendees also announced

(Dubuque, Iowa – March 6, 2023) – Q Casino announced today Back Waters Stage will again host a summer concert series in 2023. The casino plans to bring several, high-caliber acts – from a variety of different genres – to Dubuque, much to the delight of music lovers throughout the region.

Headlining this summer’s first concert is American rapper, singer, songwriter and composer Flo Rida. He is set to appear on Saturday, May 27, 2023, along with opening act Too Hype Crew. Additional dates and artists will be announced soon.

“We are excited about offering a variety of live music shows here this year,” said Brian Rakestraw, Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Q Casino. “We enjoy bringing-in exciting local and national acts, and this summer will be no different, so we look forward to hosting music lovers from across the tri-state region.” 

Q Casino also announced key changes and enhancements to this summer’s concert series, many related to security and onsite amenities. This includes:

  • Implementation of a new clear bag policy to help with the security check-in process
    • Only clear bags, no larger than 12” x 12” x 6”, will be allowed
    • Small clutch purses/wallets will be allowed and do not have to be clear, but they cannot exceed 4.5” x 6.5” in size
  • Improved entry/exit process to expedite the flow of concertgoers
  • Concertgoers will be able to enjoy their favorite bar drinks, as well as concessions featuring Amayzing Kettle Corn, hot dogs, chips, chilled soft drinks and lemonade
  • After-parties following each show at a designated Q venue

The Back Waters Stage concert series is presented by MidWestOne Bank, fueled by Kwik Stop, and sponsored by Verlo Mattress, Turpin Dodge and Conlon Construction.

Concert Details

Overview: American rapper, singer, songwriter and composer Flo Rida is the first act announced for the 2023 series. He will appear May 27 and be joined onstage with opening act Too Hype Crew.

Tramar Lacel Dillard, known professionally as Flo Rida, had his first album and breakout single (“Low”) in 2008. He has since sold more than 80 million records worldwide, thus making him one of the best-selling music artists. His hits have included “Right Round,” “Club Can’t Handle Me,” “Good Feeling,” “Wild Ones,” “Whistle,” “I Cry,” and “My House” among many others. He has also collaborated with a number of other artists – like T-Pain, Ke$ha, Sia, Jason Derulo, 99 Percent, Inna, Timmy Trumpet, Nelly Furtado, Ne-Yo and others – throughout his successful career, all of which has resulted in hit after hit for this Florida native.
