Through a partnership with Carnegie-Stout Public Library, Kennedy Mall will open a reading space in a storefront near center court on Friday, March 13. The new reading space will offer lounge seating and free access to books that the public may enjoy while at the mall or take home with them and return when completed or share with a friend. All books are donated by the Carnegie-Stout Public Library as a part of its “While You Wait” program.
“We’re pleased to offer this bright, new addition to our shoppers,” says Kennedy Mall Marketing Director Liz Rogers. “Kennedy Mall not only serves as a retail destination for the tri-state area but also as an experience-rich, community hub. The reading space is a creative and educational outlet that we think will appeal to all ages.”
The new reading space inside Kennedy Mall will be the largest of the library’s “While You Wait” program, with more than 200 free books made available for the public to read at the mall or take home with them. Carnegie-Stout Public Library offers their, “While You Wait” program to other local businesses and can also be found at the Dubuque Regional Airport.
“We are excited to launch this new service in partnership with Kennedy Mall. Books in this space have been withdrawn from the library’s collection and it is appropriate that they are offered to the public that have already paid for them through tax dollars,” said Susan Henricks, Director of Carnegie-Stout Public Library.
The new reading space is located in the southeast corner of center court inside Kennedy Mall and will be open daily during regular mall hours. For further inquiries about the reading space, contact Liz Rogers.
