(Dubuque, IA – April 12, 2024) – In conjunction with Autism Acceptance Month, Hills & Dales, with the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce, will mark the opening of the Weber Autism Center with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and open house on Thursday, April 18. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30pm at the Weber Autism Center, located on the lower-level of 1660 Embassy West Drive, Dubuque. An Open House with tours of the center will follow the ribbon cutting until 6:30pm and all are welcome to attend.
The Weber Autism Center, a $3.1 million state-of-the-art center, is now fully operational and currently supports 55 children with autism and their families. This Hills & Dales program specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis therapy tailored to the individual needs of children and adults diagnosed with autism. The new clinic environment matches the quality of delivery of services and offers a safe, functional, and sensory friendly environment for clients of all ages and abilities.
This initiative was made possible by a $1.25 million state Nonprofit Innovation infrastructure grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, and a lead gift from Jim and Jane Weber. The project also received support from the DRA, A.Y. McDonald Charitable Foundation, Black Hills Energy, TH Media, Medical Associates, Variety – The Children’s Charity, Dubuque Bank & Trust, and MidWestOne Bank, in addition to many other corporate and individual contributors.
