May 21, 2018 (DUBUQUE, IA) – One of America's greatest writers and humorists returns to life on stage at the Dubuque Museum of Art (DuMA) this summer.
On Sunday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m., the popular Famous Dead Artist series returns at DuMA with actor Doug Donald playing the role of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known by his pen name Mark Twain. Twain was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. The program will explore his long and colorful life, which was filled with spectacular triumphs and heartbreaking tragedies.
Based on “Inside the Actor’s Studio with James Lipton”, the Museum’s popular Famous Dead Artist series has played host, since 2007, to a diverse group of visual artists, musicians, writers, entertainers and figures from popular culture. The program will be moderated by Kevin Firnstahl.
Admission to this program is free; however, the event will be standing room only. Please come early to secure a seat. Doors open at 12:45 p.m.
