Dubuque, IA – November 11, 2024 – The Dubuque Regional Humane Society (DRHS) announces that Dr. Noelle Chesney, Executive Director, will be stepping down from her position effective November 29, 2024. Her departure comes as she prepares to relocate with her family to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Dr. Chesney’s leadership has brought significant growth and improvement to DRHS over her tenure, and her dedication to the animals and the community will be deeply missed. Under her guidance, DRHS has strengthened its programs, expanded community outreach, and enhanced the quality of care provided to animals.

Starting today, November 11, 2024, Bob Citrullo joins DRHS as the new Executive Director. Bob brings more than 17 years of progressive experience in animal welfare. Working with diverse organizations around the country, his expertise in shelter management, strategic planning, fundraising, and operational efficiency has led to transformative improvements in previous roles.

Bob’s deep knowledge of shelter operations and commitment to animal welfare will be invaluable as he steps into this leadership role at DRHS. His track record of fostering positive environments for staff, volunteers, and animals alike, as well as his experience in effective fundraising and community engagement, aligns well with DRHS’s mission and vision for the future.

The DRHS team and Board of Directors warmly welcome Bob to Dubuque and look forward to the future under his leadership. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chesney for her outstanding service and wish her and her family all the best in their new chapter.
