Dubuque Area Young Professionals to hold Annual Awards Luncheon

[DUBUQUE, IOWA] The Young Professionals of Dubuque (YPD) will honor the best of the best at the annual YPD Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Hotel Julien Dubuque, the event begins at 11:45 a.m. Gary Dolphin, the voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, will be the keynote speaker at the event.

Affiliated under the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals of Dubuque exists to connect young professionals with each other, the business community, and the city in which we live, work, play and do business. YPD began with approximately 60 members in the spring of 2006 and has grown to over 1,400 members.

During the annual YPD Awards Luncheon three prestigious awards are distributed; Young Professional of the Year, YP Friend of the Year and YP Business of the Year. Last year’s YP of the Year was Digger Kurt of Dupaco Community Credit Union.  Past recipients of the YP Business of the Year have included Envision Tees, Dupaco Community Credit Union, American Trust & Savings Bank, and Cottingham & Butler. John and Diane Hackett were named the YP Friend of the Year in 2016.

YPD is a result of the Chamber discovering that our local young professionals were looking for an organization that was relevant to their leadership development, trendy and helped build a network. Those needs coincided with the Chamber's desire to acquaint the area's young professionals with each other; knowing that relationship is a powerful retention tool.
