What do you enjoy outside of work?
If the weather is nice, you will find me riding the motorcycle with my boyfriend or fishing. I love spending time reading, working on puzzles, and playing strategy board games.
Tell us about your family.
I currently live with my boyfriend, and we have 2 cats and 2 dogs.
What is one unique fact about you that many people may not know?
I was a local fair queen. At the Iowa State Fair Queen competition, Kim Reynolds accidentally hit me in the back of my head with a t shirt. It was my first time ever on the Iowa State Fair grounds.
Who is one person who inspires you, and why?
It may be cliché, but I have to say my Mom. As I discover who I am in my personal life, and dive into my professional world, I learn every day something new from the sacrifices she made for me and my sisters. I grew up most of my life with her as a single mom and she did everything she could to give us the best opportunities. She is still only just a phone call away, even if it is just to ask how to make soft peaks on condensed milk.
Where is your favorite spot in Dubuque?
I am bias, but I love spending time at Clarke University. They host many events that I attend even when I am not working. Plus, the campus is beautiful.
What do you enjoy most about being a YP member?
Building connections with other people in Dubuque! I have learned so much about the places to eat I didn’t know.
What piece of advice would you give a new YP member?
Take the opportunity! Whether you are enjoying the lunch or building connections there is so much to gain. You never know what you can gain from the conversation you have when you meet someone new.
