Important things to remember as some of the biggest acts of the 2023 Summer Concert Series come to Dubuque over the next few weeks

(Dubuque, Iowa – July 11, 2023) – With the summer concert season now in full-swing and some big acts – like Darius Rucker, Volbeat, Elle King and Jelly Roll – coming to town over the next few weeks, organizers at Dubuque’s Q Casino want to pass along some helpful tips and reminders for concertgoers.

“We have great acts lined-up for our series this year, so we are expecting big crowds as thousands of people come to enjoy live music on the Back Waters Stage,” said Stacy Kansky, Chief Commercial Officer at Q Casino. “Ensuring guests have all the information necessary to plan their visit helps to make the best possible concert experience for everyone. This includes doing whatever we can so that people can easily get in and out of the concert area with minimal delays.”

Tips and Reminders for Enjoying the 2023 Summer Concert Series on Back Waters Stage:

Traffic can get congested, so carpooling is recommended whenever possible.

  • Free parking is available in the main casino parking lot, or in public areas near the Dubuque Ice Arena, which is a short walk away.
  • Carpooling, using Uber or Lyft, or getting a ride helps minimize the number of vehicles onsite.

Know the rules before entering.

  • Everyone needs a ticket to attend a concert and anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Add your tickets to your mobile wallet and have them ready to scan at the entrance gate.
  • Security checks will be done prior to entering and all carry-in items are subject to inspection.
  • Bag restrictions apply and only clear bags not exceeding 12x12x6 inches or small purses not exceeding 4.5x6.5 inches are allowed.
  • No outside food or drinks are allowed, even if purchased in the casino beforehand.
  • Chairs are allowed but with restrictions; chair bags are not permitted.

The concert area’s layout and guidelines.

  • Limited first come, first serve seating is available in the VIP Tailgate area.
  • General Admission will not have any seating provided, but outside chairs without the chair bag are allowed.
  • Shows will be held rain or shine or may be delayed in the event of severe weather. If it becomes necessary to cancel, postpone or reschedule an event, information will be shared via social media and distributed via email to the database.
  • Re-entry is permitted but you must have a wristband or stamp for re-entry.

Food and drinks are available in the concert area.

  • Drink tickets that can be used for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
  • Brats, hot dogs and popcorn are available for purchase to enjoy during the concert.

“Lots of people will be enjoying live music in an outdoor setting right outside the casino, so we want to make sure everyone has a safe and pleasant experience when attending any of our concerts,” commented Kansky.
