The Salvation Army calls on volunteers to ring bells and raise funds to meet local needs year-round.

DUBUQUE, Iowa (November 4, 2025) – Beginning November 15 and continuing through Christmas Eve, Red Kettles will appear at designated locations across Dubuque.
With 17 kettle stands throughout the area, The Salvation Army is calling on community members to volunteer as bell ringers this holiday season.
Ringing takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Volunteers do not ring on Sundays or Thanksgiving Day.
“Bell ringing is a great family activity or service project for a group, business, church, or school organization and will make a lasting impact on the community,” said Katie Harn, Divisional Development Specialist. “Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $80 to $100 per hour – enough to provide two to three families with a week’s worth of groceries through our pantry program.”

Give with Joy this Christmas season by donating at any Red Kettle stand or online at DubuqueRedKettle.org.
