DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Julien Dubuque International Film Festival has named its cash prize winners from Saturday night’s JDIFF Halloween Parade.
All film-themed entries were eligible to win.
Winners included:
Best Float: Studio 5678 Inc. with an Alice in Wonderland theme
Best Float Runner-up: Ryan’s Outdoor Services LLC with an IT theme
Best Walking Group: Adam's Dance Connection with their Thriller dance
Best Band: Wahlert / Mazzuchelli / Holy Family with their music from Ghostbusters
The parade had more than 25 entries and saw hundreds of spectators lining the street to see the floats, bands and walking groups, and collecting candy.
“Thank you so much to those who participated in the parade and came out to support the community,” said Susan Gorrell, JDIFF executive director.
“We are still just in our second year and we hope to see this event continue to grow every year.”
This was the first year of the parade’s new route – straight down Locust Street, from 7th Street to 16th Street.
The organizers would also like to thank the Dubuque Police Department and all the volunteers who helped make the event possible.
The parade was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dubuque and Radio Dubuque, whose stations include 92.9 KATFM, KDTH AM 1370, 97.3 The Rock, and 101.1 The River.
