Getting active doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it’s as simple as adding a few more steps to your daily routine. Take The Next Step Challenge with Live Healthy Iowa. It’s an easy and enjoyable way to better your health.
According to the Mayo Clinic, taking a brisk walk daily can improve your mood, help to maintain a healthy weight, and prevent or manage health conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. The Next Step Challenge is a fun and motivating six-week competition to get Iowans moving, or moving more!
Registration is open for The Next Step Challenge which officially kicks off on Monday, September 12. Throughout the six-week timeframe, adult teams (2-10 people) from companies and communities across Iowa will go head-to-head in friendly competition while building healthy physical activity habits.
The affordable challenge costs just $10 per member and includes a Live Healthy Iowa pedometer, weekly email tips, an online dashboard, and opportunities to win team and individual prizes.
“It's a fun challenge. Got me motivated, got me moving…!” says 2015 challenge participant, Macey, of Traer, Iowa.
This year marks the sixth anniversary of The Next Step Challenge. In 2015, 4,369 Iowans accumulated more than 1.1 billion steps, equivalent to over 592,000 miles!
