Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce Pleased with Injunction Blocking DOL’s Overtime Rule

Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce Pleased With Injunction Blocking DOL’s Overtime Rule

The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce has been very vocal for months with our legislators over our displeasure of the Department of Labor’s Overtime Rule.

If the overtime rule had taken effect, it would have resulted in significant new costs – more than $1 billion according to the Congressional Budget Office – and it would have caused many disruptions in how work gets done. Furthermore, the rule would have reduced workplace flexibility, remote electronic access to work, and opportunities for career advancement.

Last week a judge in Texas filed an injunction blocking this rule.

The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce with over 1100 members representing 45,000 jobs feels this is a great result and makes best sense for business.
