ImOn signed the FCC’s Keep America Connected pledge

(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) – ImOn Communications announces today that it is continuing its commitment to keep customers and communities connected. ImOn signed the FCC’s Keep America Connected pledge in March 2020 promising to continue providing high-quality broadband and telephone services and to keep customers who are financially challenged connected during the COVID 19 pandemic.

While the FCC’s Keep America Connected pledge expires June 30, 2020, ImOn will continue to honor the elements of the pledge as long as there is a federal or state declaration of an emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   ImOn commits to:

  1. Work with residential and business broadband and voice customers that have been harmed financially by the COVID-19 emergency to keep them connected, by deferring payments, waiving late fees, and working with them on payment plans;
  2. Work with K-12 schools to provide affordable broadband service for economically challenged customers with students;
  3. Work with communities, hospitals, medical centers and other essential institutions in addressing their unique broadband connection needs and challenges;
  4. Respond expeditiously to requests from customers with current accounts to upgrade their broadband service to higher performance tiers or make other service adjustments;
  5. Respond expeditiously to requests from residents and businesses in ImOn’s service area to become new customers for broadband or voice service;
  6. Respond expeditiously to requests from customers who are experiencing interruptions in their broadband or voice service;
  7. Operate, maintain, and upgrade networks to ensure customers continue to receive the experience they were promised.
  8. Support legislation that provides funding directly to residential and small business broadband and voice customers in need to enable them to stay connected to their services during the COVID-19 emergency.

Throughout, ImOn will first and foremost continue to protect the health and safety of its employees, customers, and communities, and comply with local, state, and federal government laws and emergency orders.
