Five Flags Center Receives Best Community Service Award for Wags at the Flags

Five Flags Center was recognized as having the Best Community Service Event in SMG for Wags at the Flags Indoor Dog Park. SMG, the management company that oversees the Five Flags Center for the City of Dubuque, bestowed this award at the SMG Marketing Summit in Tulsa Oklahoma June 13th.

Five Flags Assessment and Study Survey

The Five Flags Civic Center has long served as an important community asset for Dubuque and its residents. The City of Dubuque is interested in determining the most appropriate path forward as it relates to the Five Flags Civic Center and its ongoing role in Dubuque. To assist this decision-making, the City has retained an experienced consulting team to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study regarding the future strategy for the Five Flags Civic Center. A key component of this study involves outreach to Dubuque residents to share their voices and opinions regarding the future of Five Flags.

CEC (Communications Engineering Company), a nationally recognized systems and technology integrator with locations in Iowa and Wisconsin, has been included on The Channel Company’s 2017 CRN Solution Provider 500 list. The SP500 list is CRN’s annual ranking of the largest technology integrators, solution providers, and IT consultants in North America by revenue. CEC moved up to No. 360 in this year’s annual ranking.

The YEA! Dubuque class will be showcasing their businesses at their Trade Show on Thurs., May 25, 5-6 p.m. at the Hotel Julien mezzanine to promote their businesses and non-profits that they have been working on since October 2016. Following the Trade Show, Technori Dubuque will be hosting its second startup showcase 6-10 p.m. Technori's mission is to create momentum for startups by building a community around tech and innovation that enables early stage companies to get in front of members of the community to connect with their first customers, employees and investors.

Tree of Life Memorial Service Join us as we honor and remember your loved ones

On Tuesday, May 23, Hospice of Dubuque will host the Annual Tree of Life Memorial Service and Lighting Ceremony. The service will be held in Washington Park at 7:30 pm to honor and remember loved ones—both living and deceased. If you would like to remember someone with a light on the Tree of Life, please send a donation of any amount, along with the name of your loved one. All memorials, not only those served by Hospice of Dubuque, are welcome.

ABI President Joins EPIC Corporate Challenge Advisory Board as the EPIC Corporate Challenge rolls out across the State

Mike Ralston, President of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) has joined the Advisory Board for the EPIC Corporate Challenge (EPIC). EPIC is a public-private partnership in support of Iowa women in leadership. It brings together Iowa businesses to formally commit to grow and retain women at all levels of company leadership, creating a unique community of organizations working collectively on the vital issues of recruiting, maintaining, and promoting women in the workforce. The initiative is led by Iowa Women Lead Change and the State of Iowa with Presenting Sponsors Delta Dental and Hy-Vee.
