2008 Legislative Policy Statements & Agenda
Below are the 2008 Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce Policy Statements.

- Transportation Infrastructure and Accessibility:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports local and regional transportation infrastructure improvements to provide connectivity for Dubuque area businesses, and to assist in the development of Dubuque as a growing residential, commercial, and leisure destination.
- Economic Development:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports legislation, funding sources, and programming that will assist and protect Dubuque area businesses, help connect Dubuque area businesses to local and non-local customers, and encourage commercial growth and development in the Dubuque area.
- Health Care:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports solutions to rising health care costs for Dubuque area businesses and providing the availability of quality health care for Dubuque's workforce.
- Education:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports legislation and programming that will provide effective and affordable education for Dubuque's pre-school, K-12, and higher education students and connect well trained, skilled students with Dubuque area businesses.
- Workforce Development:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports the development of a well educated and skilled workforce to meet the needs of Dubuque Area employers.
- Energy:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports and encourages the research, development, & use of energy sources that minimize energy costs for businesses, while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
- Tourism Promotion:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce supports legislation, funding sources, and programming that market the Dubuque Area as a unique travel destination to regional, national, and international visitors, while recognizing the preferred seasonal travel patterns of visitors to the Dubuque Area.
