Last season we asked the musicians what music they enjoy playing the most. This concert is a direct result of their votes! It features Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture, Respighi's Pines of Rome and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. Sensational pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi returns to play Rachmaninoff's concerto. He last performed with the DSO in October 2009. Tickets are available at the Five Flags Center box office and through Ticketmaster. Financial Literacy Classes Part 4: Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions

Operation: New View Community Action Agency, along with Alliant Credit Union (ACU) and Health Services Credit Union (HSCU), will be offering another round of free financial education classes to the community. These classed are divided into four sessions based on the Four Cornerstones of Financial Literacy. This is the final class of the four part session and will run from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm.
Free admission.

Zombify yourself as much as possible before the pub crawl.
Bring one-dollar bills! Bartenders hate it when zombies ask for change!
Obtain safe transportation to and from the ZPC.
Bring multiple forms of ID. Zombies look younger than they actually are.

The public is invited to the Grand Opening of the expanded E. B. Lyons Interpretive Center at the Mines of Spain State Recreation Area on Sunday, September 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. The Center is located at 8991 Bellevue Heights Road in Dubuque. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Mines of Spain and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The $1.8 million expansion doubled the size of the center, adding an auditorium for programs and events, a biology lab for school programs, a library for reference and educational materials, and new exhibits interpreting the science and history of the region.

The Cassville Car Cruise will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010. Meeting at Menards parking lot in Platteville at 1:00 p.m. and beginning at 2:00 p.m. the cars will cruise from Platteville, through Lancaster, Potosi to Cassville, arriving at Cassville's Riverside Park at approximately 4:00 p.m.
The good times and memories of Twin-O-Rama's past has brought the cruise back. Old style loud and shiny chrome will excite the lovers of oldies and goodies of days gone by. Come to Cassville and enjoy the nostalgia and good times of these waxed and polished vintage and old-time classics.

Starting July 17, 2010 through September 11, 2010 Dubuque will feature its first Art Market on Saturdays from 1 – 6pm along the Riverwalk in the Port of Dubuque.
Regionally renowned artists will display various art pieces that include, photography, hand crafted sculptures, paintings, jewelry and many other artistic features. Other activities involve, theater performances, strolling musicians, art demonstrations and a kids art tent. Musical genres of blues, jazz and other classical musicians will complete the ambiance on July 17, July 24, August 14 & September 11 at the Alliant Amphitheater as you enjoy one Dubuque’s newest outdoor events.
